Gérard Mestrallet, CEO of GDF Suez, and Isabelle Kocher, GDF Suez’s COO, have announced the launch of the new enterprise strategy expected to ensure the company’s growth.
The enterprise project will be based on the creation of twenty-four decentralized operational Business Units (BUs).
BUs will be made according to a region-centered approach with a single country or a group of countries. The decentralization is expected to shorten response times, according to GDF Suez.
The following ten geographical BUs will be formed: North America, Latin America, Brazil, Africa, China, Asia-Pacific, Southern/Middle East, Benelux, United Kingdom, and Northern, Central and Southern Europe.
The company plans eight entities for France. Four entities will be related to gas infrastructure, and four to BtoB, BtoC, networks, and renewables.
Five global steering entities will complement the operational entities: E&P, LNG, EMT, Tractebel Engineering, and GTT.
GDF will establish five business lines tasked with operating the Group’s entities as a network and implementing its overall strategy.
The functional lines will be directed by a single corporate body ‘NewCorp’, that will guarantee Group’s cohesion, strategic direction, image and reputation, GDF Suez states in their press release.
The current organization will remain in place for 2015, with the aim to make the new organization effective from the start of 2016.
