Rocksource, an exploration company focusing on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, has named Roar Tessem as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
After Rocksource and its previous CEO, Terje Arnesen, mutually agreed that Arnesen will step down from his position on June 1, 2015, the board of the company has chosen Tessem as the new CEO.
The company notes that Tessem has 30 years’ experience within the E&P industry, having held positions with PGS, Elf, Shell, Det norske oljeselskap, DNO and Deminex.
In 2007, Tessem founded Spring Energy backed by private equity firm HitecVision, which was subsequently acquired by Tullow Oil in 2012. Roar Tessem was CEO of Tullow Norway until end of 2014.
