The construction of Green Port Hull in Yorkshire is underway and the site, which will accommodate Siemens’ wind turbine facilities, is now taking shape, the company reported on its social media pages.

GRAHAM Lagan Construction Group Joint Venture (JV) has been preparing a 54-acre site at Hull’s Alexandra Dock for Siemens’ offshore wind turbine manufacturing facility, which will be built by VolkerFitzpatrick.

Clugston Construction is working on a 12,300sqm service and logistics facility which will support the wind turbine blade factory. The building will house facilities for the service and maintenance of wind turbines as well as the storage of parts and equipment required in pre-assembly and operational phases. It will also be the logistics hub for Siemens’ UK onshore and offshore service business.

Siemens’ Green Port Hull facilities are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016/early 2017.
