Marine seismic acquisition company Polarcus has finalized a contract for a 3D marine seismic acquisition in Australia and extended a deal for a seismic acquisition project in West Africa.
Polarcus said on Friday that the Australian seismic work would deliver a high quality broadband data-set utilizing one of the company’s X-bow vessels.
The company has seven X-Bow vessels, the Polarcus Amani, Polarcus Adira, Polarcus Asima, Polarcus Alima, Polarcus Nadia, Polarcus Naila, and the SCF-bound Vyacheslav Tikhonov all of which were designed by Ulstein.
The company added that the particular vessel to be used for the project is operating under the Polarcus Explore Green environmental agenda.
The project offshore Australia is due to begin in the third quarter of 2017 and will run for approximately two months.
In addition, the seismic player has secured a 30-day extension to the West African campaign initially announced on January 9, 2017 . At the time, Polarcus said that the project would start in the first quarter of 2017 and that it would run for one month.
Duncan Eley , Chief Operating Officer of Polarcus, stated: “The multiple awards announced recently show our ability to secure key projects in the contract market, which is our previously stated strategy. These recent announcements provide clear visibility of our fleet through the end of the third quarter and into the fourth quarter.”
The specific details for both contracts, including the financial information and clients, were left undisclosed.
