AGR, a well construction and engineering project management, reservoir and field management services company, has been appointed by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), Norway’s petroleum resources regulator, as a well and drilling specialist advisor.

AGR said last Friday that the company would deliver well and drilling engineering advice to support evaluation of drilling programs, well design and testing, completions and plugging and abandonment.

The company added that the two-year scope of work has the option to be extended for an additional two years for the provision of technical training and technological solutions for data management.

Tore Øian , VP of AGR’s Well Management business in Norway, said: “We’re honored to be supporting the Norwegian Government in an official capacity, and we look forward to supporting its important work to manage Norway’s hydrocarbon resources.”

This is the second award for AGR by the NPD in quick succession. The company said last Monday that it would deliver reservoir management studies in subsurface technology, reservoir geology, and reservoir engineering.

AGR cooperated with the agency in the past as well through a two-year deal for geology and reservoir engineering, including reservoir modeling, petrophysics, reservoir simulation, and increased oil recovery.

The company also said that the NDP agreement follows several awards to support major operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Namely, AGR won several contracts over the past two months including work on the Haven accommodation rig bound for the Johan Sverdrup field and two deals with Wintershall, one for software provision on the Maria field and one for a feasibility study in the Barents Sea .
