Cheniere Energy filed a report with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on construction activities at the Corpus Christi LNG facility during the month of July.

Stage 1, that includes the liquefaction trains 1 and 2, tanks A and C, OSBL, west jetty and east jetty civil works, is at 91.2 percent completion, and Cheniere has recently won the permit to introduce fuel gas into the first liquefaction train.

Stage 2, including the third liquefaction train, tank B and the east jetty topside is 30.1 percent complete.

During the month of July, Stage 1 continued progressing work in pipe completion, testing, restoration, and insulation of critical path systems with pipe testing for Train 1 completed.

Cheniere said in its report that major highlights of the month were the introduction of nitrogen and first gas into the project as well as the commencement of lighting of the wet flare.

Construction has turned 202 systems over to startup through the end of July, the filing says.

Stage 2 continued site excavation, mudmat placement, placement of concrete foundations and columns/pedestals. Installation of underground high-density polyethylene and metallic amine pipe continued during this period. The team commenced installation of cryo rack steel and double jointing of above ground pipe. Major highlights for July included the continued work on Train 3 foundations, columns, and underground pipe installation.

LNG tank B foundation work continued, Cheniere said, adding that all the planned work for the month of August is on track.
