Oil and gas exploration company Chariot Oil & Gas has appointed a new independent non-executive director.
Chariot said on Monday that it named Chris Zeal as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
Zeal has over 30 years of work experience providing top-level advice to boardrooms across a wide range of sectors.
In this period he has been retained by some twenty FTSE100 companies including British Gas, Cairn Energy, and Tullow Oil.
Most recently, he was the managing director at Jefferies Hoare Govett, a division of Jefferies Inc., specializing in corporate broking and investment banking. Before this, he held a similar role at Citigroup.
Originally, he was trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG. Zeal is currently a director of Ventus VCT, a company invested in a portfolio of companies operating wind and hydroelectric renewable energy assets in the UK.

In recent company news, Chariot Oil & Gas in July awarded a contract to the Ocean Rig Poseidon drillship for a one-well drilling program offshore Namibia.
The contract is expected to start in direct continuation of the previously announced program with Tullow in the third quarter of 2018.
