Korean engineering company Saman Corp. has hired Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) to take on the owners’ engineering role at the 300 MW Sinan offshore wind project in South Korea.

OWC will deliver owners’ engineering services including review of site conditions, contract support for detail engineering, EPC contract, O&M, supervision, marine warranty services and other contracts.

The scope also includes the review and approval of engineering reports, support of the license approval process, and provision of technical advisory services.

The work will be led from OWC’s office in Busan and supported by its other offices.

Sinan is a 300 MW Phase 1 project located offshore Jeonnam Sinan Jaeun-do, West Sea. It is part of the recently announced development area which will feature an 8.2 GW offshore wind complex intended for completion by 2030.

Saman and OWC have also been carrying out another owner’s engineering deal at the Jeonnam Wando Geumil project. The parties are conducting the work on behalf of operators Korea South-East Power (KOEN) and POSCO Energy.
