Prysmian Group has officially signed the contract with Turkish utility TEIAS for the two recently announced high-voltage submarine power cable links.
Earlier this month, Prysmian revealed it had secured a contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of two high-voltage submarine power cable links, one between Europe and Asia and the other across the Izmit Gulf in Asia.
The contract was signed on Friday morning, 25 June, at the ceremony which gathered TEİAŞ general manager Orhan Yıldırım, and Prysmian Group representatives Hakan Ozmen, EVP Projects, Cinzia Farisè, Regional CEO MEAT, and Ulku Ozcan, Prysmian Turkey CEO.
“This is another important step for Prysmian Group and now we are ready to start working on the Turkish Crossing project. We are very proud of the partnership with TEİAŞ and we will do our best to further strengthen our business relation with them,” said Hakan Ozmen , EVP Projects at Prysmian.
The first project, Dardanelles III, includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the third high-voltage submarine power cable link between Europe and Asia across the Dardanelles strait in Turkey.
The second project, Izmit Gulf Crossing, includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a high-voltage submarine power cable link that will be installed nearby the Osman Gazi Bridge, in the Izmit Gulf, Turkey.
The completion of both work scopes is expected by 2023.
