French LNG containment specialist GTT has scored a new order from the South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of four new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

The tank design order includes two on behalf of an Asian ship owner and two on behalf of an American ship owner.

As part of this order, GTT will design the tanks of the vessels with a cargo capacity of 174,000 m3 each. The carriers will also be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

Delivery of the vessels is scheduled between the first and the third quarters of 2025.

This summer, GTT received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of fourteen new LNG carriers. In addition, the company revealed its record order intake for LNG carriers and LNG-powered vessels.
