Oilfield services provider Petrofac has won a contract extension in the Southern North Sea with ONEgas West, a venture owned by Shell UK and operated by exploration and production company Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM).

The two-year contract extension for brownfield engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services is in continuation of the previous three-year contract that was signed in July, 2021 and included two one-year options.

Petrofac will continue supporting ONEgas West’s operations in the Southern North Sea portfolio, including the Clipper South complex, Leman Alpha assets, Bacton Terminal , and ONEgas Barge campaigns.

Nick Shorten , Chief Operating Officer of Petrofac’s Asset Solutions business, noted: “We are delighted to continue to be a partner of choice, in one of our core markets. This contract award demonstrates ONEgas’ continued confidence in the value our teams in Great Yarmouth and Aberdeen add to its operations.”

This follows two deals in the UK sector of the North Sea that Petrofac secured in October last year. Namely, the company won a contract for decommissioning work with Saipem related to a multi-million project over the course of three years, and got a three-year contract extension worth $100 million to provide maintenance services for Repsol Sinopec Resources .

More recently, the UK energy services company was hired by BP to provide a wide range of services at its Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) natural gas project off the coasts of Mauritania and Senegal. The contract duration is three years and, while its exact amount has not been revealed, Petrofac reported that it was a “multi-million-dollar” deal.
