Brazil’s oil & gas giant Petrobras has awarded a new long-term contract to compatriot company Oceânica Engenharia e Consultoria for work involving diving and diverless tools.
The new contract has a value of approximately R$354 million (circa US$70.5 million) and increases Oceânica's backlog to approximately R$10.3 billion (US$2.05 billion).
Under the four-year term, Oceânica will provide Petrobras with specialized technical services involving diving and diverless tools (ROVs) across up to four service fronts.
Operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027 and continue through 2031.
"Oceânica reaffirms its commitment to sustainable growth and to its decades-long partnership with Petrobras, contributing to the efficiency and development of Brazil’s energy industry," the company said.
It was reported in mid-March this year that the two companies had signed new long-term contracts, with a total value of R$4.2 billion, for several vessels to be deployed for subsea services.
