Houston-based Zupt, part of Swiss technology group Rosenxt Group, has signed a framework agreement with Brazil's Mitang Brasil - Soluções Submarinas to jointly support subsea services in Brazil.

Based in Rio de Janeiro, Mitang provides offshore survey and positioning services, with experience in LBL positioning, USBL calibration, hydrographic survey, dimensional control, and data processing.

Effective September 30, the agreement will see the partners support subsea survey, inertial metrology, remote metrology, and 3D modeling services in Brazil, with Mitang being Zupt's local partner in Brazil.

Furthermore, C-PINS for offshore and remote metrology and 3D Recon, which produces detailed 3D models of subsea structures for contactless measurement, inspection, and engineering assessment, will be available in-country for upcoming projects.

Mitang will provide local commercial coordination and operational support, including management of local logistics providers and customs arrangements, while Zupt will retain technical oversight of its procedures, reports, and deliverables.

According to Zupt, having equipment available in Brazil will reduce repeated international shipping and provide more flexibility when preparing for project scopes and schedule changes.

To remind, as part of its long-term strategy to build an integrated portfolio of technologies and engineering capabilities for the subsea market, Rosenxt Group announced this summer that it had acquired Zupt through its U.S. business.
