Airborne Oil & Gas Delivers Shell TCP Flowline Qualification Project

The Netherlands-based thermoplastic composite pipe technology specialist Airborne Oil & Gas said it has completed a qualification program for a TCP Flowline according to the Shell Design and Engineering Practice (DEP) for flexible composite pipe systems.

In February this year, Shell awarded a qualification program to Airborne Oil & Gas for a high-pressure, deepwater TCP jumper spool to be performed at the company’s manufacturing facility in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

According to Airborne, with this program completed, the range of TCP pipe systems qualified for use within Shell globally is extended to 7.5 inch true bore ID, or 8 inch nominal pipe size.

“The qualification covers all onshore and offshore static flowline and jumper applications, and allows the industry to take advantage of lower total installed cost as well as a radical reduction in total cost of ownership,” the company said.
