Aker BP charters Solstadfarstad’s platform supply duo

Norwegian oil company Aker BP has awarded SolstadFarstad contracts for the two platform supply vessels (PSVs).

The vessel owner said on Thursday that the contracts were awarded to the 2013-built Normand Skude and to the 2012-built Normand Arctic to support the oil company’s operations in Norwegian waters.

The contracts will start in July 2018 for a firm period of four months with further four months options.

Normand Skude is of a VS 485 MK III design and Normand Arctic of an STX LNG 12 design.

“We are pleased to have secured more contracts with Aker BP,” says Kenneth Lande, EVP – Strategic Regions in SolstadFarstad.

“This is another example that the demand for offshore vessels continue to improve,” he added.

It is worth reminding that Solstad Farstad on Wednesday informed it had secured work for seven of its vessels thereby adding over 2500 vessel working days to the company’s backlog.
