Aker Solutions Leases New Building in Fornebu

Aker Solutions agreed today to lease a building in Fornebu for an initial 12 years, starting in 2016, to expand its office space capacity near Oslo.

The property is under construction and will contain about 32,000 square meters of office and common-area space on completion. Aker Solutions already has long-term leases for two nearby office buildings, including its main office. The company may extend the rental period for the new building by as many as 10 years.

Aker Solutions will lease the building from Fornebuporten AS, a subsidiary of Aker ASA, which indirectly owns 28 percent of Aker Solutions. Aker Solutions has handled the rental agreement as a related-party transaction because of Aker ASA’s ownership interests in Fornebuporten and Aker Solutions.
