The contract was awarded following pre-qualification and tender management by the Aquaterra Energy sales and design teams, and after successful completion by Aquaterra Energy of a similar project for Premier in Vietnam.

Eric Doyle, Regional Director Europe at Aquaterra Energy, said: “This is an extremely prestigious contract and plays to our strength in delivering the full project scope from design and structural analysis, through procurement, fabrication, assembly and finally load-out.  The project will be led by our dedicated team in Aberdeen, with the specialist support of our engineering and technical teams in Norwich.”

The Catcher Development comprises three fields in the UK North Sea (Catcher, Burgman and Varadero) encompassing 22 wells at a water depth of 90 metres.

James Larnder, Technical Sales Director at Aquaterra Energy, added: “The six steel DCTs, each weighing over 100 tonnes, complete with super-duplex piping manifolds, will enable the drilling of production and water injection wells without the need for rig moves for each cluster of wells.  Delivery of the six structures is scheduled to take place during 2015 and Q1 2016 when they will then be installed on the seabed ready for use during Premier’s drilling programme.”
