Atlas Professionals has secured a local recruitment contract for Ørsted’s Greater Changhua offshore wind project in Taiwan.

Atlas Professionals

Under the exclusive contract, Atlas Professionals will provide 14 local professionals for the operations and maintenance of the wind farm.

Main recruitment activities will take place in the first two quarters of 2021, with the first two professionals starting in the coming months.

The personnel will be trained and prepared to be ready for action for the first quarter of 2022.

“It is a real challenge finding qualified and experienced professionals in Taiwan. However, we are impressed by the interest in joining the offshore wind industry so far,” said Martine Rondeel, Director Renewables at Atlas Professionals.

“Working in close collaboration with our clients, local education institutions and local government, we are eager to help preparing the workforce for offshore wind industry in Taiwan.”

Earlier this year, Atlas Professionals opened an office in Taipei, which is predominantly focused on the expansion of offshore wind.

Ørsted’s Greater Changhua offshore wind sites have a total potential capacity of 2.4 GW, with a total of approximately 1.8 GW scheduled for buildout in 2021 and 2025.

This includes the 900 MW Changhua 1 and 2a wind farm for which the developer took a final investment decision in April 2019. It will feature 111 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines some 35 to 50km off the coast.
