Aveon Nets FMC Contract Off Nigeria

Aveon Offshore Limited, a Nigerian oil & gas engineering and fabrication company, said it has secured a sub-contract from FMC Technologies Nigeria for the fabrication of subsea structures for the Egina field, offshore Nigeria.

FMC Technologies was earlier awarded the Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract for the Egina Field Subsea Production Systems by Total Upstream Nigeria.

The Aveon Offshore contract is for the provision of more than 5000 Tons of subsea structures.

The project is being executed by AVEON Offshore at its 240,000 sqm fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni, near Port Harcourt and is expected to generate over 1,000,000 productive man-hours of work, Aveon said in a statement.

“The award of this project significantly expands the depth and boundary of our capabilities and provides reassurance to the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry that we are a very dependable local partner. It also proves our willingness and readiness to make the investments required to meet the very exacting expectations of our clients in respect of safety, schedule and quality “says Tein George, Chairman, Aveon Offshore Limited.

First steel cutting has occurred in December 2013 and the planned load-out and sail-away of the subsea structures is scheduled progressively from the second half of 2015, the company added.
