Baker Hughes: U.S. Weekly offshore rig count unchanged

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count reports to its Investor Relations website, according to which the U.S. offshore rig count remains unchanged from last week.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +9 to 1866 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 9 rigs from last week to 1866, with oil rigs up 8 to 1536, gas rigs up 1 to 326, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 4.

U.S. Rig Count is up 95 rigs from last year at 1771, with oil rigs up 126, gas rigs down 28, and miscellaneous rigs down 3.
The U.S. Offshore rig count is 60, unchanged from last week, and up 5 rigs year over year.
BHI Rig Count: Canada +44 to 198 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 44 rigs from last week to 198, with oil rigs up 40 to 105, and gas rigs up 4 to 93.

Canadian Rig Count is up 53 rigs from last year at 145, with oil rigs up 16, and gas rigs up 37.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
