Bechtel sets last APLNG module in place

Bechtel said that it has completed the Australia Pacific LNG project’s heavy lift program with the setting of the final Train 2 module.

Module 202RA, which arrived on the job site late last year, was set in place following the completion of the final concrete foundations required to safely set the module.

Over the past two years, a total of 69 modules, weighing more than 43,000 tonnes, have been set in place on the APLNG job site, that’s equivalent to 78 fully loaded Qantas Airbus A380s, Bechtel said in a statement.

The successful placement of 202RA is a significant milestone for APLNG, with all 69 modules now in place and all big lifts on the job site complete. Most importantly, the heavy lift program was completed without any incidents or injuries.
