The survey vessel Karina is equipped with a hull-mounted dual-head multibeam, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometers and gradiometers frames to serve various type of work, including UXO surveys.

According to G-tec, Karina is very well fitted for 2D and 3D UHRS acquisitions as it has a very low acoustic signature. The vessel operates with very low fuel consumption, even at high transit speed, and is able to run 100% on biofuel.

The 55-meter-long DP vessel will start its first project on an offshore wind farm in European waters within the coming days, the company said.

“We are grateful to the entire team who completed the successful conversion and can’t wait to see the marine and geophysical crew accomplish their first projects on board the Karina,” G-tec said.
