Black Elk Energy Holds West Delta 32 Charity Event (USA)

Black Elk Energy, an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Houston, announced the success of the West Delta 32 charity event.

Black Elk Energy and Oilfield Helping Hands teamed up to host a special tribute sporting clay shoot for the 6 families affected by the incident on the West Delta 32 platform this past November. The sold out event was held on March 15th at the GOL Shooting Range in Maurice, LA.

Net proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to establish a higher education fund for the children of the victims. As a result of the charitable contributions and personal efforts made by so many people in the energy industry, Black Elk Energy and Oilfield Helping Hands were able to donate over $130,000 for this cause.

“We are thrilled to announce the success of the West Delta 32 fundraiser”, says John Hoffman, President and CEO of Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations. “It takes the efforts of many and the support of our industry to make it a success. I’d like to give a special note of appreciation to all of our sponsors who supported this worthy cause. I would also like to thank Oilfield Helping Hands for partnering with us and thank GOL for donating the use of their shooting range in Maurice, LA. We felt this fundraiser was an important step to help support the future higher educational needs of the families affected by the incident and we look forward to continuing to assist.”

To remind, the company’s  West Delta 32 platform was in November last year hit by a fire outburst. Three workers died in the incident.
