BP Extends Safe Scandinavia Contract at Valhall (Norway)

BP Norge AS has exercised the second of two one-month options, thereby extending Safe Scandinavia’s operations at Valhall field, located in the Norwegian part of the North Sea, until December 31, 2012.

The value of the exercised option is approximately USD 9.3 million.

Safe Scandinavia was built in 1984 at the Aker Verdal yard to an Aker H-3.2E design.

The rig has a twelve (12) point, all chain mooring system allowing station keeping in the harshest of environments.

With a maximum of 583 beds, two workshops and 60 workstations, together with very high levels of accommodation, good cranage and a high payload capacity, the Safe Scandinavia is an offshore support vessel suitable for construction, commissioning and remedial work.
