Cheniere to sell up to 10 LNG cargoes in following two months

After the initial cargo from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG export facility was shipped to Brazil on Wednesday, Houston-based company eyes up to 10 more cargoes in the next few months.

As Katie Pipkin, senior vice president of business development and investor relations at Cheniere told Reuters, further eight to 10 cargoes will be sold on the spot market in the next two months.

All the spot cargoes will probably head to Brazil or Europe, Pipkin added.

The first vessel loaded at the Sabine Pass liquefaction facility, Chevron’s 160,000 cbm carrier Asia Vision, will deliver its load to Petrobras’ regasification terminal in All Saints’ Bay, Bahia.

The commissioning phase of Cheniere’s facility is expected to be completed April or May.
