CMA CGM Improves Its SAMWAF Service

The CMA CGM Group has announced the improvement of its SAMWAF service from South America to West Africa with the addition of a new call in Tema, Ghana.

This new call in Tema will allow the CMA CGM to offer a direct service to the Ghanaian market from South America East Coast as well as improve service to Benin and Niger through Cotonou gateway thanks to an efficient transshipment in Tema:

  • Santos – Tema : 13 days
  • Buenos Aires – Tema : 19 days
  • Santos – Cotonou : 15 days
  • Buenos Aires – Cotonou : 21 days

Mathieu Friedberg, Senior Vice President African Lines CMA CGM, explains: “Ghana being a significant market in Central West Africa, there is an actual added-value to complete Group shipping offer with this new direct link between ECSA market and Ghana. The CMA CGM Group intends to remain the reference in term of services quality & diversity, proposing to its customers the widest direct services scope”.

As from mid-March 2014, the CMA CGM SAMWAF service will be deployed as follows:

A 14-Day frequency service operating 3 vessels of 1 700 TEUs.

Rotation : Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Itajai – Santos – Abidjan – Tema – Pointe Noire – Luanda – Buenos Aires
