CNOOC Engineering to build Zawtika wellhead platforms

Thailand’s PTTEP has hired China’s CNOOC Engineering for offshore procurement and installation work in Myanmar.

According to a statement by CNOOC Engineering, the value of the contract for work on PTTEP’s Zawtika project in the Andaman Sea is $367 million.

Under the agreement, CNOOC Engineering will be responsible for design, construction and offshore installation of four wellhead platforms, along with corresponding subsea pipelines.

The project, located approximately 300 kilometers south of Yangon, Myanmar, will be completed by April 2016, CNOOC Engineering has informed.

The Zawtika project is the largest overseas offshore producing gas field operated by PTTEP, and is one of the largest overseas EPCI contracts for CNOOC Engineering.
