ConocoPhillips’ CEO named chair of API board

American Petroleum Institute named ConocoPhillips’ Chairman and CEO Ryan Lance as board of directors chairman.

The appointment will become effective January 1, 2016, the institute said in a statement.

API also informed that Phillips 66 Chairman and CEO Greg Garland has been elected chair of the Finance Committee.

According to API, Lance has more than 31 years of oil and natural gas industry experience in senior management and technical positions within the Houston-based oil and gas giant ConocoPhillips and has served as chairman and CEO since 2012.

Garland has more than 35 years of industry experience in technical and executive leadership positions within the oil and natural gas and chemicals industries and has served as chairman and CEO of Phillips 66 since 2012, the institute said, adding that, previously, he had served as senior vice president, Exploration and Production, Americas, for ConocoPhillips since 2010.
