The Curlew-A discovery is located in license P2396 in the UK Central North Sea, 210km east of Aberdeen and will be the fourth that FWM delivers in its capacity as well operator.

Corallian holds a 90% interest in the license and is the operator. Australia’s Talon Petroleum last October entered into an agreement with Corallian to earn a 10% interest in license P2396.

The license contains Curlew‐A discovery, which contains an independently certified gross 2C Contingent Resource of 45mmboe. At the time, appraisal drilling at Curlew‐A was scheduled for 3Q 2019.

FWM said on Tuesday that offshore operations are starting with a site survey, which will be undertaken by Gardline using the Ocean Endeavour vessel.

According to the company, the Aberdeen-based well operations team is preparing drilling plans for the well, which is anticipated to spud in H1 2020.

In early 2019, FWM also delivered the Wick and Colter wells for Corallian Energy.

Meanwhile, the FWM team in Great Yarmouth is focused on delivering the Harvey appraisal well for Independent Oil and Gas (IOG), which is anticipated to spud in early August 2019. This well was the third appointment for FWM as well operator.

Nick Ford, Managing Director of FWM added: “With the end-to-end Well Operator service we are able to assist a new generation of independent oil and gas companies to deliver wells in a safe, cost-efficient basis, on time and within budget, whilst taking care of the environment.”
