COSL Wraps Up North Pole Seismic Campaign

China Oilfield Services Limited’s (COSL) 12-streamer seismic vessel “HYSY 720” has completed an operation over two blocks in North Pole Barents Sea.

The 100-day operation is the first attempt by China in performing 3D seismic data collection in ultra-high latitude and ultra-low-temperature waters.

According to the company, a new record in monthly collection of 3D seismic data has been achieved for China, with 1,820.58 km2 acquired in the month of July.

In addition to the North Pole campaign, the company’s vessel “HYSY 718” has completed operations in New Zealand and the Far East since the beginning of this year, while “HYSY 751” and “HYSY 770” are now said to be operating in the Middle East waters.
