DMEC Welcomes Scheijgrond as New Head of Services

The Dutch Marine Energy Centre has appointed Peter Scheijgrond as its new Head of Services.

Bringing in more that 20 years’ experience in the marine energy sector, Scheijgrond will be tasked with expanding DMEC’s technical & commercial service offer.

Having led pioneering work in the sector at Navigant (formerly Ecofys), Deltares, Bluewater Energy Services and Tocardo Tidal Power, Scheijgrond now joins DMEC full time in his new position.

Over the years Scheijgrond helped bring several innovations to the market, always bridging the gap between academic R&D and practical delivery of first prototypes and demonstration projects. He is a board member and co-founder of the Dutch Energy from Water Association and closely involved in the development of new standards and certification schemes for the sector under the umbrella of the IEC.

DMEC is a not-for-profit service provider and project developer in the international marine energy sector. They support ocean energy companies in the area of demonstration & piloting, technical advancement & certification as well as developing sound finance & growth strategies.

Currently, DMEC is coordinating the development of a pan-European accelerator programme to improve the technological as well as the commercial readiness of ocean energy companies. In collaboration with investors and policy makers they accelerate marine energy solutions for a sustainable future.
