DOE Approves Annova LNG FTA Export Application

DOE Approves Annova LNG FTA Export Application

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has approved Annova LNG’s application to export approximately 342 Bcf/yr of natural gas over a 30-year period from a proposed liquefaction project to be located at the Port of Brownsville in Texas to nations with a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States.

In its initial stages, the liquefaction facility will produce 2 mtpa, or about 300,000 mmbtu/day, and is expected to be in-service by mid-2018.

The facility has been designed to be small enough to sell 100% of its volume in long-term tolling agreements to buyers in FTA countries, with the scalability in place to support up to 6.0 mtpa.
