EPC Offshore Names New Head of HR (UK)

Specialist oil and gas project management company EPC Offshore Limited has appointment a new head of HR to help meet its ambitious goal of growing employee numbers by 50% in the next 12 months.

A Fellow of the Charted Institute of Personal Development, Morag Ormiston will advance the company’s formal recruitment procedures to ensure EPC Offshore meets its evolving staffing needs.

The company has experienced rapid growth since it was established in 2009, executing in excess of £20million worth of project management work in its third year and doubling its employee numbers to 75 people based at two offices in Albyn Terrace, Aberdeen, as well as a team in Surrey.

EPC Offshore expects this to rise to 115 as it pursues its ambitious growth strategy during its fourth year in business.

Chief executive Keith Wallace said: “We are continually investing in our business, both in terms of attracting and recruiting the best people and the systems and technology which maximise the services we offer our clients.

“One central strand of EPC’s expansion plan is to significantly increase employee numbers within the project management teams. We need to ensure that we have the capacity to maintain our high levels of customer service going forward and being able to attract and retain the best talent is a critical element of that.”

Bringing 13 years’ experience with her to the role, Ormiston previously held posts with Subsea 7, MB Inspection and, most recently, was HR manager at Aberdeen College.

Initially focusing on talent development, recruitment and retention processes, Ormiston will work with the senior management team to ensure the successful execution of the company’s growth initiatives.

She said: “Getting recruitment and retention right is vital for any company. EPC Offshore is a dynamic, rapidly growing company which is operating in a tight marketplace in terms of skills. Employee engagement, growth and retention are crucial if we are to meet our future growth ambitions.

“There is a clear desire within the company to develop our people and I am looking forward to being part of the next stage in EPC Offshore’s evolution as an industry leader in the project management arena.”

EPC Offshore works with exploration and production companies to progress projects to sanction and final delivery. It uses a comprehensive and structured set of principles to achieve maximum project value, optimum resource utilization and quality assurance.
