Ex-Anadarko VP of deepwater joins Venari Petroleum as COO

Venari Resources, a deepwater oil exploration and production company in the Gulf of Mexico, has appointed a new chief operating officer (COO).

The company said on Wednesday that the new COO would be Robert “Bob” Abendschein, formerly a vice president of Anadarko Petroleum.

Abendschein joins Venari with over 30 years of experience at Anadarko Petroleum, where he most recently held the position of VP of Deepwater Americas Operations.

His career at Anadarko included progressive roles in reservoir engineering, exploration, production services, corporate development, and worldwide deepwater operations. Abendschein holds a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.

He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a registered professional engineer in Texas.

Brian Reinsborough, president and CEO of Venari, said: “Bob brings a wealth of deepwater and M&A experience, and I am extremely pleased he is joining the Venari team. Bob’s track record of delivering outstanding operational results along with his reputation as a strategic decision maker will enable him to provide excellent leadership at Venari.”
