Ex-Atwood man joins Helix Energy as VP and chief commercial officer

Offshore energy services company Helix Energy Solutions has appointed a new executive vice president and chief commercial officer (CCO).

Helix said on Tuesday that it named Geoffrey Wagner to the role of the company’s executive vice president and CCO. According to the company, Wagner has more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry.

Before joining Helix, Wagner spent several years in executive leadership with offshore driller Atwood Oceanics where he served as a vice president of strategic planning, vice president of technical services and supply chain, and vice president of marketing and business development.

He joined Atwood from Transocean, where he spent five years in various management positions with increasing responsibility. Prior to Transocean, he worked with SeaRiver Maritime, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil.

Regarding Wagner’s appointment, CEO of Helix Owen Kratz said: “He complements our executive leadership team, and we believe his experience and drive makes him the right choice to lead our company’s commercial strategy. We also expect to benefit as a company from Geoff’s past experience in operational execution and process development.”
