ExxonMobil hires SILK SSV

SILK Holdings’ subsidiary, Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (JMSB), has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc, for the provision of one Straight Supply Vessel with Accommodation (SSV).

SILK says that the contract, starting immediately, is for a primary term of two years and may be extended for a further one year period at the discretion of ExxonMobil.

According to the company the contract is estimated to have a value of approximately RM 24.462 million ($6.9 million) for the primary term.

SSVs are vessels specifically designed for the transportation of supplies to and from offshore installations. This involves the transportation of items in containers or dry bulk cargo such as cement and pipes on deck.
