Fincantieri Delivers Seven Seas Explorer Cruise Ship

Miami-headquartered cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a brand of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, has taken delivery of a new cruise ship Seven Seas Explorer from the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.

The 55,200 gross ton vessel was constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa.

Seven Seas Explorer, the flagship of the company’s fleet, features a length of 223 meters and is able to accommodate 750 passengers on board in 377 suites.

In March, Regent Seven Seas Cruises placed an order at Fincantieri to construct a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer.

The new vessel, ordered under a contract price of EUR 422 million (USD 468 million), is expected to join its owner in 2020.

The new ship will retain many of the features and amenities that its sister ship Seven Seas Explorer has, however, the cruise line earlier said.
