FMC Technologies’ Multiphase Pump for Shell’s BC10 Development

FMC Technologies has secured a contract for the supply of Multiphase Pump solution for Shell’s BC10 Parque das Conchas fields in Brazil.

The BC-10 is located in the Campos Basin in water depths up to 6,562 ft (2,000m).

The development consist of six fields, Ostra, Abalone, Argonauta B-West, Argonauta O-North, Argonauta O-South and Massa, tied back to a single FPSO facility.

According to FMC Technologies spokesperson, Shell and FMC Technologies have reached a major milestone to produce a new generation of Multiphase Pump solution to replace current Separation and Boosting Modules used in these fields.

The agreement between the parties covers the first unit at this time, the company informed.

The BC10 Parque das Conchas is operated by Shell with 50% interest. Other parties include ONGC 27% and Qatar Petroleum International 23%.
