FOCAL 528 Design Selected for West African Ops

FOCAL 528, another large PSV design by Focal Marine & Offshore, has been selected for West African operation, for building of a pair in Yuexin Ocean Engineering.

FOCAL 528 is a multi-purpose PSV design with 86m LOA / 5,000 ton deadweight, 1,000 m2 deck cargo area, complement of 80 men and carriage of multi cargoes of fuel oil, base oil, fresh water, mud / brine, dry bulk and methanol.

In addition to supply function, the design also has oil recovery notation without limitation on flash point of recovered oil, and safety standby / rescue notation by ABS. The design is also made ready for installation of AHC crane and helideck, plus a built-in moonpool, enabling the vessel to be operated as subsea support vessel if there is demand.

The design complies with latest regulations including SPS 2008 and MLC 2006.
