France's Gendarmerie boss to take over as Total's head of securityFrench oil giant Total is working on boosting its security. Namely, the company has announced its new appointment will come from the French National Gendarmerie.

More to the point, Total will appoint General Denis Favier, Director-General of the French National Gendarmerie, as Senior Vice President, Security.

Favier, who has been the head of the French Gendarmerie since 2013, will join the company on September 1. He will be appointed Senior Vice President, Security on October 1.

According to Le Figaro, Total CEO Patrick Pouyanné said that with the Favier appointment he intended to strengthen the security division of the oil group.
