Gas Entec delivers Bali LNG FRU

South Korean engineering company Gas Entec said it has delivered the small-scale Bali floating regasification unit (FRU) on Tuesday, March 22.

The 50 mcf/d unit is a part of a mini LNG import project in Indonesia that will serve a 200 MW power plant in Benoa Port, Bali to be operated by Indonesia’s PT Pelindo Energi Logistik.

The FRU was delivered a month after its launch at Kangnam Shipyard in Busan, Korea. According to Gas Entec, this is world’s first small-scale floating regasification unit.

Gas Entec said that the FRU will be deployed by the end of March, delivering 40 mcf per day of regasified natural gas to the power plant once the final performance tests are complete.

The company also won a contract in October last year to build the floating storage unit with a capacity of 26,000 cbm for the mini LNG import project.

FSU, together with the delivered FRU, will be operated by JSK Shipping/Humpuss transportation consortium which will also provide LNG to the project.
