Gazprom, OMV meet on setting up Nord Stream JV

The Gazprom headquarters hosted Friday (August 28) a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom’s Management Committee and Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Executive Board of OMV.

According to the Russian company, the two chairmen talked about the Nord Stream II project implementation, particularly, the preparations for the Shareholders’ Agreement on setting up a joint venture for constructing the new gas pipeline.

On July 31, Gazprom and Germany’s BASF signed a Memorandum of Intent stipulating the cooperation within the project for constructing the Nord Stream II gas pipeline.

On June 18, 2015 Gazprom, E.ON, Shell and OMV signed the Memorandum of Intent stipulating the joint construction of two strings of the Nord Stream II gas pipeline with the aggregate annual capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea.
