GCE Subsea Names New Chairman

Business & Finance

Norway’s GCE Subsea has elected Jon Arve Sværen as its new chairman of the board of the subsea cluster.

Sværen is currently employed as VP Business Strategy Processing in OneSubsea.

“I am humble, yet proud of being asked to take the position as chairman of the GCE Subsea board,” Sværen says. “I am convinced that subsea technology has a bright future despite the current downturn in the industry. Subsea technology will be required to optimise oil production from the many challenging field developments and tail-end production of mature fields in the world.”

“The nomination committee has, in my opinion, put together a very experienced Board with extensive subsea and business expertise,” says Owe Hagesæther, CEO at GCE Subsea.

In addition to the new chairman, GCE Subsea also welcomed other new members of the board: Tove Ormevik, Offshore Installation Manager Skarv SPFO, Aker BP; Elin Sjødin Drange, Head of Business Development, Municipality of Bergen; Mads Arild Eidem, Head of Section for Materials & Subsea Operations, DNV GL Bergen; Lasse Ståløy, CEO, Radøygruppen; Magnar Aaland, Managing Director, Advantec Group; Silje Skarstein, Head of Services Norway, Aker Solutions; Sissel Rogne, Managing Director, Institute of Marine Research.
