GTT to design tank for new LNGC Hyundai Samho is building
Korean shipyard Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) has ordered the fuel tank design of a new LNG carrier from French LNG containment specialist GTT.


The French firm said in a statement that in April 2022 HSHI ordered the tank design of a new LNG carrier on behalf of a European shipowner. The shipowner remains undisclosed for the time being.
The LNG carrier will have a tank capacity of 174,000 cbm. It will feature the membrane containment system Mark III Flex by GTT.

The shipyard will deliver the vessel in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Recently, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) revealed it won a $224.5 million LNG carrier order. The ship will be built by KSOE’s unit Hyundai Samho which will deliver the vessel by December 2025. This might be referring to the same vessel.
