GulfMark orders another ST-216 Arctic PSV from Simek

The vessel, of the ST-216 Arctic design developed by Skipsteknisk, will be built for GulfMark Rederi AS, based in Sandnes Norway. Simek expects the vessel to be delivered in November 2015.

The 92.6m-long platform supply vessel, designed for harsh environment operations, will be ice classed and winterized for cold climate conditions. The vessel will have over 1000 square meters of deck area and large cargo carrying capacity. In addition, the vessel will have a green profile and will be fitted for rescue and oil recovery capabilities.

In February 2014 Simek delivered the vessel of the same ST-216 Arctic type to GulfMark. The vessel was named ‘North Cruys’, after Cornelius Cruys (1655 – 1727) who was a Dutch Vice Admiral of the Imperial Russian Navy and the first commander of the Russian Baltic Fleet. He was born in Norway.
