The site is located on Rossie Island close to the harbour in Montrose, which serves as an important port for Harkand’s ongoing business. Based on a 10-year lease, the facility consists of 12,000sq ft warehouse space, 33,000sq ft of external storage as well as a small area of internal offices.

The facility was previously a bus depot and has been extensively upgraded. Harkand Europe managing director, David Kerr, said: “The new office and storage facility in Montrose gives us the extra space we need as the business continues to grow in the North Sea.

“We will be using the facility for equipment storage as well as mobilisations and demobilisations in Montrose. The new premises adds to the existing base we currently have at the Nord Centre in Aberdeen.”

The Group was launched in February 2013 through the merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services (ISS) and Andrews Survey following investment by Oaktree Capital Management. Employing close to 1,000 people at bases in Aberdeen, London, Houston, and Singapore. Harkand aims to grow turnover to $1 billion in revenue by 2017.
