Hibiscus abandons Sea Lion dry hole (Australia)

Hibiscus Petroleum last week said that the drilling operation at the Sea Lion-1 well, offshore Victoria, Australia was unsuccessful, and no commercial volumes of oil and gas were found.
In an update on Monday, November 16, 3D Oil Limited, a partner in the VIC/P57 area where the well is located, said that the Sea Lion -1 well has been plugged and abandoned and that operations at the drilling location were complete.
The Seadrill-owned West Telesto drilling rig has been released and has demobilized from VIC/P57 permit area.
Earlier in November, Hibiscus had said that indications of hydrocarbons were encountered in the target zones at the Sea Lion, but further testproved the well to be a dry hole.
