Huisman installs multi-lay tower on ‘Lewek Constellation’

Huisman Equipment has installed a 800mt Multi-lay tower onboard Ezra’s Lewek Constellation.

Huisman has reported through the company’s Facebook page that the 3,000mt Huisman Offshore Mast Crane onboard the vessel and the Matador 3 were used to install the tower which is capable to do both Reel lay and flex lay.

“We would like to thank the Huisman, Ezra and Bonn and Mees teams for the efforts and dedication during the installation,” the company said.

The vessel, Lewek Constellation, has recently completed its inaugural installation project for VAALCO, offshore Gabon, West Africa after which the vessel headed to the Netherlands for the installation of the multi-lay tower and ancillary equipment for pipe lay activities.

After the installation, Ezra said that Lewek Constellation will proceed to the Gulf of Mexico to begin work for Noble Energy in the first quarter of 2015.

The Lewek Constellation is an ice classed, DP3, multi-lay vessel with heavy lift capabilities. Ezra says it has superior manoeuvrability and a high transit speed with a multi-lay system that can support both rigid and non-rigid pipelines. The vessel has a 3000MT heavy lift crane.
