Hyundai Mipo nets order for petrochemical carrier pair

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has signed a sales and supply contract for two petrochemical product carriers worth KRW 80 billion ($72.7 million).

The European company behind the order was not identified.

Hyundai Mipo said in a regulatory filing that the ships are scheduled for delivery in 2022.

The shipbuilder’s parent Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. has won orders for 14 ships so far this year worth $1.4 billion.

For 2021, the shipbuilder increased its target to a combined $14.9 billion, Yonhap reported.
