IKM Testing secures work on Statoil’s Gina Krog

IKM Testing has been awarded a contract for commissioning services by Statoil on the Gina Krog topside project, which is currently under construction in South Korea, by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

According to the company, the work is planned to take place in Q1 2016 in South Korea. The contract also includes the same work scope when the topside arrives at the Norwegian continental shelf.

IKM Testing will supply N2He Leak testing with options for bolt work, hot oil flushing, chemical cleaning and flange machining. The company says that the work preparation and execution will include personnel, equipment and consumables and is similar to the work scope on the recently awarded Mariner contract with Statoil UK Ltd.

“We are extremely pleased that Statoil once again has awarded us a contract. This demonstrates our ability to win repeated business with valued customers by offering cost effective solutions,” says Jens Bolme, International Sales and Marketing Director in IKM Testing.

Gina Krog, which will be among Statoil’s major new developments is estimated to bear 225 million barrels of oil and gas.
